The conference will focus on the themes supporting the SAVE ENERGY project – Increasing energy efficiency in public buildings through ICT.

It will bring together a diverse group of policymakers from the EU and municipality level, researchers, project partners and media. The conference will review the project white paper, discuss current and emerging policy issues, introduce the SAVE ENERGY pilot building applications and provide a comprehensive picture of the project’s best practices.

The seminar was presented by Principal Manager of Visitor Services and Operations at Manchester Art Gallery, Catriona Morgan and Professor Eric Bichard from Salford University. Catriona focused on the background to the initiatives and details of the energy monitoring whilst Eric’s talked about some of the issues and psychology behind behaviour change.

There was an excellent audience of over 15 delegates from various art galleries and museums around the country including overseas (Bahrain). Some of the attendees were already involved in energy efficiency initiatives in their own institutions as well a number looking at ways to save energy in the future.
